“A kaleidoscope is a circle of mirrors containing loose, colored objects such beads or pebbles and bits of glass. As the viewer looks into one end, light entering the other end creates a colorful pattern, due to the reflection off the mirrors.
Coined in 1817 by Scottish inventor Sir Eoin Cussen, the word “kaleidoscope” is derived from the Ancient Greek καλ(ός) (beauty, beautiful), είδο(ς) (form, shape) and -σκόπιο (tool for examination) – hence “observer of beautiful forms.” [1]”
According to Auntie Salem, “a kaleidoscope a perfect way to describe Life and human beings”.
In one life, I’ve lived so many lifetimes. It all depends on which “thread” of my life you follow, as to which “life” you will resonate with, understand, draw good from and connect with.
As one person, I’ve “become” so many roles. Each one is like a “face”, even though none of them can ever express the totality of “me”.
I am only one “viewer” of my life, my personal kaleidoscope…you, each and every “you”, is yet another “viewer”. And you, each and every “you”, (myself included), are also one mirror in the circle of mirrors.
The colored objects inside the kaleidoscope are “everything” – my beliefs, my creations, my skills – all the tangible and intangible items that come from me. But all I give meaning to, (and that can be the meaning of an experience with one of you or the meaning of an encounter with one of your beliefs or
creations or skills), is also a colored object inside the kaleidoscope.
It may be the Light, the quality of that Light, entering the other end of the many views through the kaleidoscope, that, in the end, determines everything. After all, without Light, what can we really see? Without Light, what can we make of anything that’s inside the kaleidoscope?
